Directors Letter 27th June 2022

Good evening all members,

Just a catch up to let you know what’s been happening with the chapter over recent months and what is coming up for you to mark on your calendars.

Firstly, I would like to take the time to thank all those that attended our Chapters AGM.  This was a great night and by the comments given about the evening I think it was enjoyed by those who were there.  The museum is such a great place, and those that hadn’t been through before, were highly impressed.  I must say, that I was a little disappointed that we had quite a few members (6) that RSVP’d saying they would attend but didn’t turn up.  As a Chapter we had to cover the cost for all numbers given for catering.

At the meeting we thanked the Exec members that have served on the committee.  Our Treasurer David, Stephanie as Webmaster, Kay as Secretary have resigned from their roles on the Exec committee.  I personally want to express my thanks once again to you for all you have done for the Chapter over the last few years.

If you feel you would like to join the Exec, to help the Chapter through the next year or two in anyway, please get in touch with myself.  We would love to have you join the Exec, we have positions that you may be able to fill.

We are looking for someone to fill the Secretary role, if you are interested please let me know.

In saying all of that, we have new Exec members who are joining the Exec for the coming year,  2022-2023

Director                              Deane Blaikie

Road & Sport                     Hannah Manssen

Activities                             Gavin Bills

Membership                      Janice Blaikie

Head Road Captain         Lance Potoka

Treasurer                            Steve Hart

I look forward to the coming year with the Exec committee, thank you Gavin and Steve for offering to join the Exec.   There is always room for more -  please don’t think that you wouldn’t be able to do anything to help – I am sure you could.

Things that are going on in the next while:

We have a Road Captains and TEC planning meeting via zoom on Wednesday night, planning for the next 6 months.  If you have any ideas for rides or activities you would like please let us know so we can plan for them in the calendar.

10th July - Woodturners café and Museum ride

14th August - Mokau ride,  more details for this ride will be out soon

Things to look out for in the next month or two:

The Waihi Wahoo.  This had been postponed from last year and is down for the weekend of 19th - 20th of November.  This is a joint chapter event with Auckland HOG and East Coast HOG chapters.  You will need to register via the link below, and this has all the details you need.   You will need to book accommodation if you wish to stay and enjoy the band on Saturday night (to save a late night trip home)

The Waihi Wahoo Tickets, Waihi | Eventbrite

26th - 27th November -  this is the Beach Hop weekend.   Harley Davidson, as in previous years will have a big appearance there,  come along for the day and support our local Dealership, Road & Sport.

We will keep you informed of what will be coming up once the calendar has been organised.   The dates will be uploaded to Member Jungle and you will be notified of them.

Important information to take notice of.  When renewing your membership and paying via on-line banking, you must complete a membership form.  These can be found on the Chapter’s website www.waikatohog.co.nz or at Road & Sport.  To make it even easier for you, you can even fill in the form on-line and this alters the Membership Officer, Janice that you are renewing and have paid your money.

It is very hard for Janice to know you have paid your money if you do not fill out a membership form and let her know.

I do want to thank you for continuing to renew your membership each year, as Director,  it is pleasing to see, so thank you.

The New Zealand Chapter Directors meet via zoom every three months.  This is a great way to keep in touch with the other Chapters, to see what they have been doing and what they have coming up.  I will pass on any information on what is coming up from HOG when available.

Thank you for your continued support to the Chapter.

Regards
